Pakunya tidak terbuat dari besi, namun terbuat juga dari kayu; khusus pasak kayu yang digunakan adalah kayu ulin (kayu besi). membuat paku pasak untuk memaku papan kapal cara pembuatan pasak pun cukup simpel, kayu-kayu besi dipotong sepanjang 15cm, dan dibelah menjadi kecil..
