Sailing canoe simplicity and lightness with the hullshape and stability of a good sailing dinghy. viola is a sailing canoe plan 14ft (4.3m) long and 40 inches wide. the hull is rooftopable at 34kg or 75lbs. a few pounds heavier than an rs aero and much lighter than a laser. same as an opti!. The beth sailing canoe was designed to be beautiful, provide fast and exciting performance sailing, fast and easy to build from plywood and light enough to handle by myself (70lbs) - and look like a classic sailing boat design. all the while blasting around at speed.. I was up at duck flat a couple of weeks ago and had a bit of a poke around their computer. i found a whole bunch of new images of beth my sailing canoe - plan number one! the original beth was launched about 15 years ago and the beth mk2 sailing canoe in the plans is about 12 years young. beth has similar performance around an olympic course to an average club level laser but is heaps easier.
